Our Equipment & Methods: A Scientific Approach
1. PHI Core Investigative Protocol
At Paranormal Houston Investigations (PHI), we believe that credibility comes from methodology. Our investigations are rooted in skepticism, critical thinking, and disciplined data collection. We utilize a blend of standard and specialized equipment to seek verifiable, repeatable evidence while simultaneously working to debunk natural explanations.
1. PHI Core Investigative Protocol
Our primary method is a rigorous, multi-step process designed to eliminate false positives:
Baseline Readings: Before any investigation begins, we take comprehensive readings (EMF, temperature, humidity, structural noise) across the entire location. This establishes a "normal" benchmark against which we can compare any anomalous spikes or dips.
Systematic Debunking: Every observed phenomenon—a draft, a sound, a flicker—is immediately investigated for natural causes (e.g., HVAC system, external traffic, structural settling, faulty wiring). Only when all known natural explanations are ruled out is the event logged as a potential anomaly.
Evidence Triangulation: For an event to be considered "strong evidence," it must be captured and documented by at least two independent devices or team members (e.g., an audio recorder capturing an EVP while a separate video camera captures a correlating environmental change).
Controlled Sessions: We conduct focused sessions (e.g., EVP sessions, triggering experiments) where all environmental factors are controlled and documented to improve the integrity of the data collected.
